FOUNDER
Ernest (Ernie) E. Choat, P.E. (1927 – 2005)

Ernie founded (EEC) Environmental Engineering Consultants and developed textbooks, classroom methods and hands-on prototypes for use in Testing and Balancing (TAB) classes. Ernie also developed textbooks for HVAC design, classroom methods and hands-on prototypes for use in design classes.
The EEC TAB and design classes begin in 1995 and include students from national, international, regional and local firms.

Ernie’s HVAC career extended from 1953 to 2005. He held several positions as design manager including design manager of the Oak Ridges HVAC design group of 55 personnel. His experience includes the design of specialized environmental control systems for clean rooms, precision machine shops, humidity controlled areas, and control of exhaust effluents from industrial facilities.Ernie published extensively.
